And close-ups of the fabric:
Does anyone recognize this fabric? It's got a pagoda on it, people. You know how I love pagodas or anything even vaguely Chinoiserie-esque (I know that's not a word, but just go with it). Anyway, it would be going in the office I just painted black. Granted, it has no black in the fabric, but once again, anything goes with black, right? Just nod in the affirmative. Seriously though, any thoughts on this?
Oh, and not to confuse you but just to remind you, here is the current state of my office . . . it is painted black but basically has furniture and stuff crammed in it until I find a pleasing furniture arrangement and get my chandelier hung. Oh, and the credenzas are back from the painter. They look fabulous, but don't both fit in here (in the current arrangement), so I'm thinking one will be going in my daughter's bedroom at some point.
So, there you have it. Keep the daybed or get the loveseat? And is that fabric nice or just eh? I can't get it out of my head for some reason. And, I do kind of like the idea of a quirky pattern thrown in with all the black and white. Might make it a bit cozier. You can see the chiavari chair I painted electric blue, the little Greek key metal tray I painted gold (duh, what else would I do?) and other little odds and ends like the Windsor Smith Riad fabric I snagged yesterday at Calico Corners' going-out-of-business sale (makes me sad when businesses don't make it).
And while I've made the case for patterned sofas before, here's just a refresher of how they can make an ordinary space a little more special . . .
So, discuss amongst yourselves, then leave a comment telling me how you feel. Oh, and don't forget to enter the Novica giveaway!

I like the sofa! I think it will soften up the ultra-chic space. And yes, black does go with everything ;-)
I say go for it! Your office is looking amazing!
P.S. I spy a lot of stuff that I also own - mirror, floor lamp, nate's tortoise shell and the lucite chandy. Great minds! ;)
The loveseat!!! The loveseat!!!! I cannot get over how great its looking already. I love all the white and gold with the black walls. Super gorgeous - you are giving me the courage to face my black walls fears!
Carry on with it all!!
I vote Loveseat 2012! Sorry, I'm cheesy and I obviously have Election Day fever. The print of the loveseat would bring several of the colors already in the guest room together I think (wall color, the color of the Chiavari chair). Do it, do it!
Love the CL sofa and the fabric.
It looks like a Lee Jofa fabric. I like it actually. You could definitely do a lot with it! That office is going to be totally fab!
Much Love,
Trissta
yes go for it! Office is looking great and I'm in love with the credenzas. - Brandy
Get it!!!!! It will look amazing.
In LOVE with the fabric on that CL find! Wish I could help you out on what it is...but it's gorgeous.
I don't recognize the fabric but I think it will look great in there.
Guuurrrl, I can't say no to a fabulous printed loveseat! It looks so expensive and would add some soft patina to your graphic room (which is looking amazing, btw).
Get. It.
At first when I saw it I was like - WTH? Then I saw your office and thought 'the loveseat would be freakin' PERFECT in there!'. You have converted me, i'm in love with it now and can't stop thinking about it either. Go buy asap :)
Kathy,
I looked for almost an hour last night (I needed a distraction from the election!) and could not find that fabric. It is now in my brain too! I so wish there was a website that indexed every single fabric by material, colors, subject!!! It would make life so much easier when you are trying to find a specific one. Good luck, I hope you find the name and yes, I would get that sofa and then use the fabric you found as some fabulous pillows to break up the pattern! M.
I like the sofa! I love all the space....i lovely

Go for it....love the pattern!
Oooo amazing credenzas!!!
Also love that greek key tray.
Sorry, don't recognize that fabric.
it's awesome and EXACTLY what that room needs. some pattern.
i hope you got it.
xo
I agree, I think it is what the room needs. I too think it looks a little like a Schumacher fabric, The daybed is too traditional and clunky. Seems it would go best in a boys room. Lookin good!
Love the loveseat! I've been looking around for that pagoda fabric and cannot find the name to save my life. I've painted my bedroom walls black as well (BM's Black Horizon) and just bought a yard of that same Riad fabric from Calico Corners last night to make pillows. What special plans do you have for yours? Love the direction you're headed!
Well said. Im remembering that as well.
