Our New Pet Project

Meet Piper . . .
My family voted, and we got a new puppy on Saturday. She's a golden retriever like our dear dog of 9 and half years, Sadie, who died last year after a short but terrible fight with cancer. We just had to get another golden. Isn't she precious? Of course, she's an 9-week-old puppy so there have been accidents but the good news is that she really likes her crate. We're off to the vet this afternoon for her first check-up.

She joins her siblings . . .
Coco, our Bernese Mountain Dog

and Oreo, the stray cat who won't leave.

We're ready for a new adventure which will include even more vacuuming and I'm sure some destruction of property. Just another excuse to go shopping, right?

We know Piper can't replace Sadie, but she can help heal our broken hearts a bit. We love and miss you, Sadie, and will never forget you.

Piper is adorable -- but then again, there's really nothing cuter than a golden puppy.

SHe is adorable! I love me some puppy breath, but I hate the accidents, chewing and shedding. Our hamsters are turning out to be the best pets ever. Just clean out their cage once/week and they're good to go. :)

I love puppies! My theory is "never go out looking at new cars or puppies because you will come home with one". I lost my Fancy girl at 15 and that is how I acquired 2 new dogs! Wine and the internet! Not a good combination.....

So adorable!! My kids have been begging for a dog but I want to wait until Butterball is potty trained. isn't it like having a new baby?

Lucky you/Poor you. What fun to have such an adorable little one in the house. I don't envy the on call monitoring and extra clean up that comes with such a cutie pie though.

Best to you in the training process!

what a sweetie! Oh, I know you are tired, though.

There really isn't a better family dog than a golden
