I Swear I'm Not Bragging . . .

but I found some more awesome lamps.
I still haven't decided if I'm going to keep them or sell them in the booth.  I've seriously been lusting after black lamps lately, so these might have to live in my house for a while so I can make an informed decision. Don't want to be too hasty.

After I looked at the lamps a little more closely, I noticed these stickers on the sockets.
So, who is this Paul Hanson? Good question. I had no idea so I consulted my good friend Google. I got no real description, but found several examples of Paul Hanson lamps on both 1st Dibs and eBay. Apparently, he made a lot of lamps of varying styles starting in the 1940's. Here's an example of a pair on 1st Dibs . . .
These are selling for $4,200? Hmm. Good to know.

In other news, I found this chevron/flamestitch fabric in the form of curtains at the Habitat store (Bri found this last week but there were still a couple of panels left). Thought I might be able to use it somewhere in the house.
Or maybe not. My husband hates it. A lot. I think it reminds him of his grandmother's house. He pulled his veto card. Oh well. You've got to pick your battles, I guess. Bri, if you want some more of this fabric it's yours.
Today's the last full day of my son's Pre-K, so I'll be running around like a mad woman. Happy Wednesday to you.

Score!

Too bad about the flamestitch. Maybe he just can't visualize it properly? It would make a fab little lumbar pillow.

I know all about picking battles....but we women are pretty clever arent' we:) Sounds like Paul Hanson is worth hanging onto...4200 is quite a hefty price tag for a pair of lamps.....have fun!

WOW! Awesome find...how much did you pay for them? I concur with Naomi, I think a lumbar pillow would be fabulous.

I say make the pillow Kathy and see how he likes it then. Don't give up now!!!!!

And the lamps are the motherf*cking sh*t.

P.s. I still got two more weeks of freedom before the destroyer is out of school.

Oh yes, those are awesome! And don't get me started on husbands vetoing stuff. Mine seems to think he has a say-so in decorating our house. As if!

Paul Hanson's label looks more like an iron-on name tag for sleep-away camp. :) Great score, though! Don't you love it when you stumble upon something fabulous w/out even knowing it??!

DO NOT LISTEN TO HIM. Sorry didn't mean to yell (yes I did). That fabric is fabulous and would make for some awesome pillows! Trust me, I have some of the very same in a different colorway. Or perhaps, recover the seats on your dining room chairs?

The lamps are wonderful and I hope are just as valuable as the 1st Dibs version. You are on a roll....

Dang...what are you guys doing in Nashville to find so much cool stuff!!!!! Beating people up in back streets?????

That is flipping awesome. And that flamestich needs to go on your dining room chairs to add to your magical colorscheme. Just do it and see if he even notices. Thats what I do 50% of the time when I get vetoed.

seriously y'all, this stuff was in my grandmother's house back in the 80's. it may look cool now, but in 6 months it'll look dated.

Oh Matt, Matt, Matt...that testosterone is making you all woo woo in the head. It will NOT look dated six months from now PRECISELY because it was in your grandmother's house in the 80s. Timeless. Classic. Never goes out of style.
