However, my immediate issue is my hair - it's driving me crazy, but luckily I'm getting it cut tomorrow and am thinking of going shorter (this seems to be a trend lately, but I'm not above being a little trendy). I'm thinking something shoulder-skimming like this . . .
Or a tad longer like this . . .
Now, I have a LOT more hair than Giuliana and that's my main problem. I like the sort of wispy, wavy look but my copious amounts of hair make it difficult sometimes. I think Kristin (my fabulous stylist) will just need to cut lots of layers to make it piece-y (sounds like I know what I'm talking about, right?).
In other news, we're starting to re-do the kids' playroom as it's the only room we really haven't done anything to since we moved in over six years ago. But, as the kids get older and have fewer small toys, their room needs some tweaking. First and foremost, it needs a coat of paint as the harvest yellow/gold in there is way 1998. Instead of their tiny play table, I decided they needed a bigger surface where they could do crafts, eat, do homework, play games, etc. So, I found this faux burled wood laminate table and chrome chair set at the flea market Friday and loved it . . .
First of all, the fact that it's laminate and going in a playroom is a slam dunk. But, the faux burled wood look just ups the cool factor a notch. And for some reason, my kids love anything that looks the least bit modern . . . if it's chrome, it's good. Hmm. Where did they get that idea? Also, the table folds down to extend or to be totally flat and shoved up against a wall. Perfect for impromptu dance parties or sleepovers. Space-saving is always a good thing. Here it is opened up (as requested by my daughter) in the playroom . . .
Of course, the upholstery will need to be replaced but that's an easy fix. I actually have some white vinyl and some other options around the house too. That's another project to add to the list.
I sincerely hope I will be checking back in more this week. If I'm really brave I may try to snap a photo of my new 'do tomorrow. Wish me luck!

OMG, I was just thinking of the same hair cut! I'm due too and I'm loving this look. Can't wait to see yours.
That table set is perfect!

WEIRD. Just over the last week I've decided I am SO OVER my super long hair, and was picturing, well, that first photo. Only curlier since I have curly hair. I've been thinking about it enough to consider going to get my hair cut soon instead of waiting my usual 4-6 months. Can't wait to see what you do!

I've been obsessing about Guiliana's haircut since last night. I think it is adorable but I'm like you and have a lot more hair than she does. Will you ask your stylist how she thinks she got those curls? She and Bill are coming to town to host a fashion show and I thought about going just to ask her how she styles the curls. ha!
Cute hairdos! I think Giuliana was due for new cut - I don't think the long hair suited her. I love the waves - I wonder how they do that part? I have your hair's opposite, fine and thin, but prone to strange waves in places that are not good. You must show us the new 'do. Good luck!

glad you're back. does julianna r. not look ten years younger with that short do???
Good luck. I'm getting mine cut/highlighted/colored/something on Thursday and I'm cutting some off for sure. - Brandy
Wasn't Giuliana's hair mostly extensions anyway? I love the second one, a bit longer. Great table for the kids to play on. How's the foot?
I have also had great success spray painting vinyl if you can figure out how to cover the crome....
Cute chairs and love the hair do! I need a new do for spring! I have straight hair so don't know if I could do that wavy thing without some trouble, and I'm into no maintenane hair. Good luck with yours.

The apples don't fall far from the tree, huh? You have converted them to little decor-savvy kids.
And, seriously, if my hair was even the least bit wavy (it's not, it's stick-straight) I would totally rock that cut. I usually think Guiliana is very harsh looking and this hairstyle SERIOUSLY softens her up.
I can't wait to see the new do! I love both of your options. I'm glad the dinette set worked out...it was a great find.
You need to share your hair cut!! I love the "messy" look ... just wish I had the guts to carry it off ... also, is there an age appropriateness for it? Can't wait to see the playroom evolve! xo
Oh I wish I had the face for those hairstyles, my face is too round! THey are both really cool!
I am loving those chrome chairs and desk.. what a find!
