Photo Dump

I hate to put the word dump in my post title, but there it is. I downloaded photos from my phone yesterday after a few recent scouting trips for either myself or others, so thought I would share what I found impressive enough to photograph. First up, a store called Merridian. I don't go in there very often, but they usually have some nice pieces like these chocolate velvet tufted chairs. Yummy. They were super comfortable too.
They also had these interesting little gingko leaves to use as trays or wall art.
Some cool pillows from Ryan Studios. I saw this vendor at High Point. Good stuff.
Greek Key rug, Frenchy chairs.
Vintage Chinese dragon rug. A little pricey but very unique.
A great geometric rug in citron and gray. A very now color combination.

Next, I wouldn't be me if I didn't hit a thrift store, so here's what I found at the Habitat Home store . . .
Some sort of hybrid campaign/bamboo furniture. Can't decide if I like it or not. Hmm.

I've been drawn to a lot of green pieces lately. This moire fabric armchair was in really good shape except for some wear on the arms. And look, it's by Hickory Chair. Not bad for $50.
See, another green chair. I like the nailheads. Very regal looking. Not my style but could be a stand-out in the right space.

A few days later, I was in Belle Meade waiting for a prescription so I poked around at some of their consignment and antique shops. Belle Meade is a very nice (read: wealthy) part of town, so this is not necessarily where you look for bargains but instead investment pieces.

First, the Stock Market Consignment Shop had this beauty.
Again, with the green. Sorry, but I could not resist. Look at all the beautiful details on this piece . . .

This piece was originally a radio cabinet but the most recent owners used it as a bar - they sound like my kind of people. The cabinet opens on one side and swivels on the base. I've never seen anything quite like it. Oh, and it's only green on one side. Crazy. But I think I'm in love with it.
The inside could use some work. Wish I had gotten a better shot of how it swivels, but trust me, it's cool.

Next, I stopped in the Shoppes of Belle Meade, their antique mall. Some seriously pretty things for seriously nice prices.
The wood on this chest of drawers was stunning.
Loved the shape of these chairs. And the antique tapestry thrown over one had the most amazing colors in it.

A wavy horn mirror.
See, I'm not the only one who likes dolphins.
Theirs are a lot pricier than mine.
Huge, dramatic carved wooden urns. Would make quite a statement in the right space.
Pretty pillow.
Couldn't resist these beautiful boxes.
A Chinese Chippendale chair. I also can't resist chinoiserie.

Hoofed tables are all the rage too.
More green.

And the detail on this chair about killed me it was so pretty. As was the coral silk fabric and the shape. Maybe one day.
And last but not least, more green!

Hope you enjoyed what caught my eye . . . a little virtual shopping spree. Have you seen any goodies lately?

Hi! I've often thought I would love to introduce myself because I too hunt around for great finds at these same estate sales and it's always fun to do it with a friend!
I drove to Nashville from Brentwood via Old Hickory and in the search for an estate sale, came across a fabric sale behind Cindi Earl outside the custom drape boutique.
Liza, a fellow mom and seamstress, is selling consignment fabrics for $6 a yard! Yes it's true and there were some beautiful fabrics. All from designers, and leftover from various projects.
Anyway, I think it was just today but that she is going to do more of these. I can find her contact info.
Would love to meet sometime!

Dolphins!!
Holy crap, you have so many good sources near you. I am seriously jealous. Why don't I have an antique mall nearby.

So, did you take anything home?

Dragon rug makes my insides hurt it's so good. As does the hoofed table, for that matter. So many beautiful things, Kathy. Next time I'm in Nashville, will you be my guide? :0)
