Gearing Up for Fall & Giveaway Winner

I think the temperature is finally going to drop into what I call the fall range here in Tennessee on Friday. I can't wait. I still need to unload my fall/winter clothes from their attic storage, air them out and change out my summer wardrobe for my fall one. This is also about the time I start shopping for a couple of new pieces. 

I only had time to hit a couple of stores at the mall, one of which was Express. I don't go in Express very often (the head-throbbingly loud music usually puts me off), but it's right next to J. Crew, and I was looking for something different. I didn't actually buy anything, but I put some items on hold so I could go back later when I have more time. Here are the items I tried on . . .

This Long Belted Sweater Jacket (the belt is actually a sweater sash, not the belt they show here).

  this Flyaway Cardigan in camel not gray (just couldn't get the photo to download).

They had lots of sparkly sequined tanks.

I really liked this Piped Military Jacket. It's a jersey material so it allows more movement than some structured jackets. Don't worry, I won't attempt the rest of the outfit.

Dreaming of Fall

It is almost too hot to move here in Nashville. There's no relief in sight either. Sigh. Luckily, when I went to my mailbox today I received the new Anthropologie catalog chocked full of fabulous fall merchandise.


It was somehow good for my psyche to see clothing and accessories that I might be able to wear in - oh, I don't know - maybe three months, if I'm lucky. This is the South after all, fall is sometimes a very short season between a hot humid summer and a freezing winter. Which is sad because it's my favorite season. But, I digress - on to the good Anthropologie stuff. 

The one that made me stop in my tracks . . .

This Sliced Eggplant Bag. Isn't it fabulous? I love a little purple in the fall. This bag is calling my name loudly.

Next, was this . . .

I swooned over this Terrace House Jacket. It may look terrible on, but it's worth a shot. I need a fun jacket for fall.

And lastly (although there were several other loves), these . . .

Upwards Boots made my heart go pitter patter. 

A girl can dream about fall, can't she?
