Granted, it's not the best reproduction (it was made in Indonesia), it has a small crack in the finish and I would change the fabric, but the price is right. They only have one left, and I have no idea where I'll put it . . . but I'm sure I could make it work.
I became obsessed with this iconic chair many moons ago. Can’t remember when. Too many design magazines have created a rut in my memory.
Mary McGee featured an Elkins Loop chair in her glamorous Beverly Hills bungalow.
Meg Braff threw some loops in a Hamptons house upping the wow factor even more.
And NY designer James Andrew thought the more loops the merrier!
If I can't have the Elkins Loop chair itself, I'm definitely leaning toward getting this beautiful rendering of one by artist Anne Harwell (known to design blog enthusiasts as Annechovie). For a mere $25 (plus shipping), it could be mine. Check out her Etsy shop here.
How about you . . . does the Elkins chair inspire you or leave you cold?
